Mistakes were made when we were young, but the consequence is a pain still stinging.
And I'm not one to think things through, so when instinct rises, so do my actions too.
Come present day: we're in an awkward mess. I've got some unsought feelings that i can't keep in my head.
And when I blurt them out, the actions follow suit, and we're left with relief, and regret, and we don't know what we should do.
We've got accidents we swore we wouldn't make again, but how many times can we break our own promises.
And while you're preoccupied, I could take my turn at moving on, but what's the point if every time i try you find your way back in my thoughts.
Guessed it'd be the last time. You were the last thing I thought would ever cross my mind, but you've been spinning around my head.
You've left something stuck in my chest.
You are the pain that i know best.
(I just want to know I'm not alone)
And when the words came out, they had a shrill connotation to a future that seemed brighter than is inevitable.
And when i saw your face, you knew there was some pain, but you can't lie about a kiss.
Naivety had me believe that you and I are meant to be, but you're the only let down I'll ever need.
Because in the end you're still stuck in my head.
And in the end I'm just a trend.
I'm fleeting, I'm just a trend.
